皮罗斯马尼充其量是个古怪的人，为了生存而保住许多工作，而不是仅仅依靠他的绘画才能。其中一个工作是在镇中心的牛奶摊，他卖牛奶、酸奶、奶酪和黄油。他常常无缘无故地离开他的商店，在镇上的街道上闲逛。在这些场合，他特别喜欢看街头音乐家、管风琴演奏者。正是在他生命中的这个时期，他买得起商店后面的一个艺术工作室，那时他能够定期画画。

Pirosmani was an erratic individual at best, holding down many jobs in order to survive, rather then relying solely on his painting prowess. One of these jobs was a milk stall in the middle of town, where he sold milk, yogurt, cheese and butter. He would often leave his shop for no reason at all and wander around the streets of the town. On these occasions, he loved to watch the street musicians, the barrel organ players especially. It was at this period in his life, in which he was able to afford an art studio behind his shop, when he was able to paint regularly.
